Putin will help Iran in case of Israel war against nuclear facilities: Ex-US Senate candidate
Russian President Vladimir Putin is taking every step to enable Iran to defend itself in the event of an attack by Israel should the US Congress reject the nuclear agreement in mid-September, a former US Senate candidate says.
“I think Mr. Putin is taking whatever steps he can take to ensure that the Iranians would be in a better position to defend themselves in the event that Israel has something up its sleeves” after the September vote, said Mark Dankof, who is also a broadcaster in San Antonio, Texas.
In an interview with Press TV on Wednesday, Dankof said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would “do everything he can to subvert this agreement in the United States Congress.”
The nuclear agreement was reached between Iran and the P5+1 group of countries — the United States, Britain, France, China, Russia and Germany – after months of tough negotiations in Vienna last month.
Netanyahu will have other plans to subvert “this arrangement into the way of false flag incidence that would be blamed falsely on Iran that would create a pretext for an Israeli and or American war against Iran. That would be a great tragedy,” said Dankof.
Commenting on Washington’s objection to Russia’s decision to sell the S-300 missile defense system to Iran, Dankoff said, ‘’It’s very predictable that the United States would be objecting to this sale.”
“The sale is entirely legal and the sale essentially solidifies a guarantee, that if Israel tries to pull anything in the way of subterfuge to undermine this agreement, this P5+1 agreement with Iran that the defense of S-300 system being sold to the Iranians by Russia is going to give Iran a better chance of defending itself in case again there is something that ends up happening that shouldn’t happen,” he added.
The decision to deliver the missile system came after Iran and the P5+1 group of countries reached the agreement.
