Iraq Officials say US may be intentionally arming ISIL

US may be helping ISIL terrorists in Iraq: Officials

Iraqi officials say that the US-led coalition against ISIL Takfiri terrorists may have intentionally dropped arms for the militant group.

“The airstrikes cannot defeat ISIL and liberate the cities. We hear that in some places the warplanes drop weapons for ISIL… What we know is that the victories achieved on the ground are done by the Iraqi army and volunteers,” Iraqi State of Law Coalition MP Hanan Fatlawi told the Press TV correspondent in Baghdad.

On October 22, the US admitted that one of the weapon airdrops intended for Kurds fighting in the Syrian town of Kobani was almost certainly intercepted by ISIL terrorists.ciaUSarmingISISmeme

“The presence of the international advisers in such huge numbers is not necessary. We are in a war and this is not the time for training, it’s the time for fighting. I think this is an effort by the US to come back to Iraq,” Fatlawi added.

Washington has launched hundreds of airstrikes against the ISIL militants in Iraq and Syria, which analysts regard as part of the US attempts to gradually spread its influence in Iraq.

The Takfiri militants have been carrying out horrific acts of violence, including public decapitations and crucifixions, against all Syrian and Iraqi communities such as Shias, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians and Izadi Kurds.

The West and its regional allies, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, are giving financial and military support to the militants.

US playing double game to target Syria gov’t: Analyst

The US is playing a double game in Syria by using the purported fight against the Takfiri ISIL group as a pretext to target the Syrian government, an analyst tells Press TV.

“It is very, very obvious that the US is playing a double game in this so-called war against ISIL,” Wayne Madsen, an investigative journalist, said in an interview with Press TV on Wednesday.

“We saw the US bombing the Syrian city of Raqqa two days after ISIL forces departed the city. We also know that the US bombed a Syrian air force base where ISIL was not present. So it appears, in those cases, the target was the Syrian government,” Madsen added.

“And now we have the case of US weapons falling into the hands of ISIL that were supposed to go to the Syrian Kurds.”

The remarks come following the release of a video from northern Syria showing masked militants inspecting the military equipment airdropped by the US directly into areas controlled by the ISIL near the Syrian border city of Kobani.

The US Central Command on Sunday said the airdrops, which have been provided by Kurdish authorities in Iraq, were “intended to enable continued resistance against ISIL’s attempts to overtake Kobani.”

The US and its allies also say they are carrying out airstrikes against the Takfiris in Syria and Iraq in order to curb their advances in the region. The air raids have so far failed to halt the militants’ gains.

The ISIL terrorists currently control swathes of territory across Syria and Iraq. They have been committing heinous crimes in the captured areas, including mass executions and beheading of people.
